Getting it done: is it worth it?

So....I keep making progress on getting the frog quilt ready to go to the long-arm-quilter, and I keep coming back to this question, "Is it worth it?"

Is it worth it to pay two cents per square inch to quilt this giant (queen sized) quilt?  This giant quilt that I wouldn't have picked out in the store to buy?  This giant quilt that doesn't go with the decor in any of our bedrooms?  This giant quilt that is so ruffly around the middle and the edges that I'm not sure it can even be quilted nicely, even by a professional on a long-arm machine?  It is worth it to spend all this time adding (ruffly, unfortunately) borders?  It is worth it to put together a backing?  Is it worth it to have the pillow sham sizes quilted to match the rest of the quilt top? 

I am inching closer and closer to calling this project "finished" -- but I still don't have an answer.  I finished up (what I am capable of finishing) the backing, have pressed the pillow sham tops, and have a rough plan for taking out some of the unintentional ruffles....but I still haven't decided whether it is truly a good use of my finances to have someone else quilt this for me. 

Is it worth it?  Probably not.

Will I do it anyway?  Probably so. My desire to see it finished is probably going to win out on this one.

five minute friday

Linking up for Five Minute Friday hosted by the gypsy mama. It's Friday morning, there is no school today, and I am wide awake. I have been since about 20 minutes after my alarm usually goes off. I grabbed the cat, shoved her under the covers, and told sweet hubby "Merry Christmas". He wasn't very amused, starting scratching my head to get me to go back to sleep...but I am awake. Linking up at the Gypsy Mama . If you met me.... I'd be happy to chat for a little while, unless I was watching the clock and trying to manage my time. Sometimes I try, sometimes I don't.
