I made a baby hat! I used the Purl Soho Winter Baby Bonnet pattern, but instead of using two fabrics, only used cashmere (from an old sweater!) and sewed it with french seams. I did add a little bit of woven cotton lining to the ties, just to help keep them from over stretching. And the baby likes his hat! Any time he sees it sitting out, he tries to reach for it. And after he reaches for it, he signs "please" and starts to get loud until I help him put it on.
I also made two pairs of mittens! The girls are over the moon with them -- the oldest keeps telling me, "Thank you for thinking of me and making these for me!" It is the sweetest.

And I also have worked my way through the mending pile. I have re-gained two blouses. The girls have re-gained two pairs of bloomers. The baby has a sleep sack that is no longer falling apart. Two lovely church (quiet) toys can be added back into the church-toy rotation.
And I have given myself permission to add a few, selective, new projects into the queue...as well as discovering a few projects I had forgotten about. I gave myself permission to get rid of the supplies for a project that I decided I wasn't really interested in doing, and got rid of the supplies, so feel good about that one on all fronts. If I continue at the current rate of productivity in the "project room," I will have cleared out all of the quick and easy projects before the end of January, leaving time and mental space for a much bigger project in February: recovering the old furniture from my grandmother's house. Two chairs and a love seat....I had planned to outsource the recovering, but the man who comes so highly recommended just won't return my calls to schedule pick-up of the furniture, and the more he doesn't return my calls to take the furniture in the first place, the more doubts I have about when and how I would get it back! I think I can easily do the sewing parts, and if sweet hubby will help with the stapling and re-attaching parts, we'll have some lovely and comfortable furniture soon-ish. It's comfortable now, but definitely not lovely.
